********************************************************************* Caboladies / Oneohtrix Point Never split cassette $7BACK IN STOCK!!
"This split unfolds as a singular and flowing journey. Caboladies reaches out to solar gods above while OPN wanders through the arid deserts of the mind and heart." -nna tapes
*******************************************
"The latest work from Portland, OR synthesizer veteran Daryl Groetsch. Layered, melodic analog synth music for astronauts that yearn for the earth below." -nna tapes
************************************************ Driphouse "50/50" cassette $7
"Catacombs of electronic espionage from former Raccoo-oo-oon member Darren Ho. A tape of many chambers, each containing clues to a greater unknown." -nna tapes
************************************************ Nonhorse "Subtle Revenge" cassette $7
"Enter G. Lucas Crane's (Woods, Vanishing Voice) warped and damaged world of tape collage hysteria. "Subtle Revenge" is the full spectrum of bizarre sensations experienced during full-on party mode, and the hazy reflection on the morning after. Snip, snip..." -nna tapes
************************************************ Breathing Flowers "Audiomancy" cassette $6
"McKinley Jones (ex-Expo '70) dollops out a spoonful of star-gazing
cosmic folk/astral flower picking, full of fly-by guitar buzz and
synth warbles, melted field recordings intertwined, dipping from dark
vibes to light all the way to the melodious happy ending. A short but
sweet collection full of interesting twists and turns in a cohesive
vision of nights laid out in the grass dreaming of blooming lands.
Tied up in wrap-around sewn wallpaper border pouches with an insert
and a flower bud. Edition of 50." -cabin floor esoterica
************************************************************** Zashiki Warashi "Salamander" cassette $6
"Carter Thornton is no stranger to throwing something down, weather
it's his recent LP on Conduit Creations with collaborations with
everyone from Burning Star Core to Zaimph, or his time spent in Enos
Slaughter (with brothers from NNCK and Sunburned), Izititiz, and
Piegeons, the man has made a dent in the New York shamble folk that's
for sure. This tape show's a wide range of everything from his
off-kilter, ringing classical guitar work to bent up mixes of swirling
static, dog barks, jingled bells and jangled drums, and slowly
building into the intense fuzz of the B-side only to end with a warped
keyboard demo jam at the end. Strange is only the beginning. Edition
of 50 tapes in full-color wrap-around 'Wappenhalter-style' sleeves
laid on leaves picked from the summit of Mt. Jeez and tied shut with
twine." -cabin floor esoterica
************************************************************** Pan to Scratch "The Stratified Course" cassette $6
"Endless (perveyor of the wonderful Earjerk, member of Drunjus and
Second Family Band) really knows how to scratch up a tape. The sounds
of a tape recorder left on long after the music has ended. The whip of
the wind over a built-in-mic, the pocket rustle and the panning hum of
a car passing by. A walk through the woods picking up trash and
banging out rythms on rust and paper cups. Riffing in a melodica found
under the moss. Edition of 50 tapes in sewn burlap pouches with a
cardstock insert." -cabin floor esoterica
************************************************************** FLOWER MAN "ANOTHER OZONE HEX" cassette $6
"Chris Bush (OF CABOLADIES) has been REALLLLY blowin my mind with his solo project Flower Man. After seeing a preformance of him while on tour in lexington, i was hooked. An equally beautifully reserved and chaotic offering of completely unbelievable synthesizer music. High end crunch mixed with new-agey pad-synth sounds play off each other in un-real and head-spinning harmonic motions. Engaging and mezmorizing. Truly amazing. Reminds me of Eno's "ambient 3: day of radiance". This releases' last track "wonder what you are" wlll have you cooped up in front of your tape deck playing it again and again and again! be warned.. nicely color printed, in an edition of 75 copies." -catholic tapes *normal case version*
*************************************************** SKIN GRAFT "DAMNED" cassette $6
"Wyatt Howland's SKin Graft project (Cleveland, OH) is hands-down creating some of the most abrasive and disgusting electronics Ive ever heard. NOTHING like it. filth. "Damned" is especially wonderful due to its extremely short sides and his ability to do so much with 5 minutes at a time. Tapes, electronics, and gut-wrenching electronics dont waste a second of this release. one of the best Sk's ive heard! originally released in a private edition back in March with another limited FW release with xeroxed art for his short midwest tour. Just had to give it a more "official" release. Nice color prints, in an edition of 100 copies" -catholic tapes *normal case version*
*************************************************** FACE PLANT "GET HIGH & LISTEN" cassette $6
"face plant is the new solo project of aaron coyes (peaking lights, rahdunes). while maintaining the same buried pop feel as peaking lights, coyes goes completely off the wall on "get high & listen". with wild swinging delays over lo-fi tape madness, coyes rarely lets up on this rollercoaster ride of a release enabling all the senses into total pop motion sickness. like takin a ride through the desert on bright day, total mario-kart style. extremely uplifting and rhythmic while maintaining an unusually free and wild style. a really fun listen!" -catholic tapes
*NOTE: There are two versions: one in a normal case, one in over-sized case*
*************************************************** Baronic Wall - "The Golden Sword/In Granite Parlor" cassette $6.50
"Baronic Wall is former Iowa City resident Jack Gilbert who recently moved back to his home turf in the Welsh countryside. This cassette is a re-release of the ultra limited self released “Golden Sword” cassette and the Agents of Chaos issued “In Granite Parlor”. After a series of destructive freak out prone live shows Baronic Wall was put to tape with help from Jeff Witscher and what found its way onto those tapes is a fucking weird stew of sci fi synth punk and sordid artistry. Dry as hell poetically fucked British ranting over torched keyboard sludge, the mannerism of this music are obessesion with detritus. There is a Lambkin/ vintage Fazzini vibe here, and the far out heights of this spaceship see no bounds. Art by SDReed." -night people
********************************* Tracey Trance - "Fountain" cassette $6.50
"We first came across Tracey out on the road, passing through Bloomington Indiana. His organ with a big Dutch Hex painted on the back and keyboards piled up in a corner looked liked an interesting mess. The live result was a weird stunning mix of drum machine baked psychedelic zydeco, Tiny Tim like vocals, and sunny pop goop. The music was really fun, people danced, and Tracey turned out to be just as charming and interesting as his music. With a recent tape on El Tule and more to come on Not Not Fun, expect more from Tracey soon. Art by SDReed." -night people
********************************* Pink Priest - "Gulls Diving Into the Ocean" cassette $6.50
"Pink Priest is Arkansas resident William Cody Watson, who also spends time co-running the Bathetic Label, and playing with Wild Safari. Real deep loner zone feelings on this cassette. Low rumbling synth and electronics blowing over a windswept landscape by the sea. Isolating, atmospheric and gloomy but with subtle touches of light almost airy tones floating in and out to create a deeper more dynamic composition. New LP out on La Station Radar as well, and more on the horizon for sure. Art by SDReed." -night people
********************************* The Pheromoans - "s/t" cassette $6.50
"The Pheromoans are from the UK and poses some of the best forward potential in contemporary artsy garage punk. With prior 7inches out on Savory Days, Convulsive, and Yakisakana, a prolific discography is already in the works. Comparisons have been made to the Fall, the Shadow Ring, the Scrotum Poles etc. and that all fits well and good, but this cassette even further highlights The Pheromoans distinct collage inspired mess of lo fi spoken word junk, savage riffing, and pop tinted abandon. Really great stuff. Art by SDReed." -night people
********************************* DuneBuggy - "Suck Me Through a Flavor Straw" cassette $6.50
"New DuneBuggy via the Garbes/Taterbug axis, two longer jammers. A side is DeNudes loner guitar vibes transitioning into a short garage punk stomper. B side is Dunebuggys best moment yet, a long upbeat organ ripper, raw and on the spot, hazed, sad and heartfelt. Art by RGarbes." -night people
*********************************
Jeffry Astin - 'Stray Dreams Zodiac' cassette $6
"In stride with the no-fi key fidelities established on an earlier summer split c19 with Josh Burke - densely packed and deeply hypnotic, all flows." -housecraft
*********************************************
Gitche-Anahmi-Bezheu/Jugu split cassette $6
"Incredible carousel-like sprawl from Ian Najdzionek's latest brain-child Gitche-Anahmi-Bezheu - expertly crafted meditative vibes. Jugu is a new emerging beast, with two mighty sets of industrious Gainesville hands at play : Royallen + Evan Galbicka (Antigua Ibis, head of Vanishing Hour)."-housecraft
*********************************************
Talugung - 'Adelosa Glare' cassette $6
"Ryan Waldron has a keen sense for the ethereal. The sounds he conjures from household glasses to rickety old strung things reflect a fair and balanced illustration of the nature of our reality. Minors and majors gently twist and curl in organic harmonics. No attempt is made to beautify or perfect the output for the objects resound in their own subtle inherited vibration, harmonious even in dissonance."-housecraft
*********************************************
Xiphiidae - 'Sewn Within a Circle' double cassette $10
"Recalls recordings passed, circa 2002 to 2009 - has the same kind of "feel" as 'Crystal Marvelous Fruit' (released late in '08 on ExBx) in that it's a collection of older material sorting through a wide array of instrumentation and sourcing but this also includes select tracks from the first few Xiphiidae releases on Housecraft like: 'Honeyguide', 'Our Bodies Anointed With Lightning', Royallen split CDr, and 'Celestial Rag Rug', as well as a couple tracks from the s/t cassette release on Scumbag early in 2006 - all with a pinch of virgin material/fold-out art and here's our #100"-housecraft
********************************************* NASA "High Cube" cassette $6
"One of the most recognizable structures at the Walt Disney World Resort, Spaceship Earth plots a timeline from the origins of prehistoric man to the dawn of the 21st century. This post-everything Orlando trio, likewise, takes you on a half hour headtrip thru the dawning of blown-out blues to the trance-inducing psychedelia of tomorrow with a little slow-burning drone and groove-damaged stoner sludge along the way. Recorded in 2007, High Cube leaves no sonic bowl left untoked, picking up where past releases on Not Not Fun and H-tapes left off." -baked
********************************************************************* DRIPHOUSE "Romati & Gains" cassette $6
"Daren Ho, former shredking of Raccoo-oo-oon and recent NYC transplant, has been melting minds like a hot knife thru warm space butter under his synth-ladden solo moniker Driphouse through a handful of releases from the likes of Night People and Ho's own Gel imprint. Here, Daren offers two intensely psychedelic excursions which lull the listener to a deep peaceful pyschosis, before dissolving into thin air. In a word, mesmerizing." -baked
********************************************************************* Sparkling Wide Pressure "Bob Moves/Linda Speaks" cassette $6
out of print tape on existential cloth recordings
*********************************************************************
Mirror to Mirror "Heart" cassette $6
"Beautiful synthesizer by the fairly new moniker of Alex Twomey (Jugular Forest label). Perfectly paced, orchestral ambient music that takes you places far beyond the "sit and listen" approach so commonly utilized at the moment. Highly inspired by the weight that came along with the massive fires literally feet from his home in the angeles national forest this summer." -ekhein
******************************************************* Huh 'huh' cassette $7 (UK import)
"Hailing from Japan Huh are a duo consisting of Takuma Mori and Kyosuke Terada. Their glacially textured improv jams swirl in and out of dub, pop, punk, freeform jazz, psychedelia and noise. The first side is a continuous 45 minute jam that takes in all manner of explorations driven by some of the most awesome Improvised drumming and weird space alien vocalised mantras. Laser beams swirling amidst kaleidoscopic guitar, moments of sweet beautiful jewels build up into cacophonous mountains collapsing upon themselves and as the remnants settle, another biker lullaby is born riffing into oblivion… The flip side is broken down into five improvised pieces which bring us more ferociously pounding loose rhythms and synthesized skoozing vocals, like a playful dub roots petting zoo, reminiscent at times of the Slits, Cotton Casino, and NNCK. These guys are breaking through with these immense freeform jams and an emphasis on freeform! Huh receive and transmit something so accurately and pure that it emits liberation upon the listener. These guys sound like a present day Boredoms covering themselves from 15 years ago!" -bum tapes
**************************************************************** Julian Lynch/Zodiac Toys split cassette $7 (UK import)
New Jersey’s Julian Lynch brings three laidback songs from the Garden. (for fans of Ducktails, Real Estate et al) Zodiac Toys are from Bristol." -bum tapes
**************************************************************** Second Family Band "Dream Release" cassette $7 (UK import)
Another incredible offering from the SFB camp, documenting their huge collective burnouts. side A begins with a Murky laidback basement jam which quickly morphs into a psychedelic banjo romp, and ends with the incredible tropical sounding shamanic title track. The flip sides drugged up guitar solo and loose percussion keeps the pace for another of the band’s sonic meditations, which all accumulates into the last track’s laid back Dub Vibes, perfectly suited for heaviest smokers soundtrack. limited to 40 copies" -bum tapes
**************************************************************** GITCHE-ANAHMI-BEZHEU - 'MAHPIYA SKA IN: GUIDE TO NOWHERE PLATEAU' cassette $6
"Abysmal breezes whisk upon Mahpiya Ska, inducing a daze. Trickling delicacies disperse like eggs in the moss. Nothing to retain but the White Cloud guide, emerging from the cave, closer to Nowhere Plateau." -rotifer cassettes
*************************************************** plane "kremlin" cassette $6
"johnson county guitar duos from iowa’s evan miller and phil ochs. i first heard plane when i was visiting iowa city for the first time. phil was screening some of his gorgeous super 8 films and plane provided the soundtrack via cassette deck. it was the perfect tonic after a long drive from chicago...with scenes of county fairs and kids goofing off in the iowa hills. there’s a wonderful melancholy to all these songs, and a great rapport between phil and evan, with just enough fuzz, tremolo, and finger-picking to put a large smile on my face. very refreshing!" -rare youth
******************************************* SANDOR RADO - KIRUNA KHYAL TAPE $9 (swedish import)
"Andreas Malm from Fria Konstellationen/Skeppet goes solo with Sandor Rado. Three organic drone pieces with an almost folky feel. Kiruna Khyal is scandinavian coldness at it's best and the result is 31 haunting minutes. 50 copies. " -utmarken tapes

cassette combines the acoustic feeling of earlier recordings with a more experimental use of both
electronics and instruments. " -klorofyllkassette
******************************************* Dylan Ettinger "Bringin' The Heat" cassingle $4
"Companion cassingle to the Smokin’ 7 inch (NNF177) finds Ettinger out on his own, sans The Heat, but even without back-up he still brings it. “Bringin’ The Heat” is a killer coast guard coda, searchlights fanning out, SWAT Team guitar licks, hypnotized Kevlar keyboard prisms, delicate synth wah surf spray misting up your fuschia Oakleys. It’s make-it-or-break-it time; be a pro. The other song on here is “Cancer,” which washes over the closing credits as the cast and info scroll down and people leave the theater. A melancholic cocaine-y synth-pop outro ode with multiple micro-solos and some defeated echo vocals crooning out the final fade-to-black vibes: we did what we could, it was what it was, but forget it Jake that’s life on the squad, another day another dollar (or something). Material repeats on both sides to save you some flipping. Pro-imprinted cassettes in full-color J-cards with art by NNF. Edition of 125. " -not not fun

************************************ E.C. Brown and I'Diamond "Gothick Reforme" cassette $6
"Everything just keeps getting darker and darker... It must be time for this lost treasure to be unearthed. In 2001 someone gave me a cd-r. They said they knew I liked "strange music" and they thought I should have this. The cover art was a robed figure with a golden mask and the back had a similar figure (perhaps female) posing with similar robes and a different mask. Both figures were set against a background of neon pink and yellow forest leaves. Somehow, despite the colors, there was something definitely ominous about the artwork for this cdr. And the same can be said of the sounds within. Truly ahead of it's time, I had no frame of reference for this at the time. I kept the cdr mostly to mysel; a secret revealed only to some. Very few were ready to except it's slimy, sometimes oppresive atmospheres, it's jarring filmscore "scene changes", and it's mixture of pre-Free(k) Folk, Noise and even Black Metal tendencies. Earjerk has tracked down Mr. Brown and has re-issued this wonder on puke-pink or yellow cassettes with the original artwork formated for cassette, for all the world to hear no longer lingering in dark corners of cardboard boxes and basement floors, subject to cd rot and digital decay. Buy this. Be the first to say you weren't there. 99 copies." -earjerk
************************************************************************************ Pan to Scratch "Wintermarch" cassette $6
unseen territories explored via microphone. " -object tapes
************************************************************************************ space dive "twenty-first century sport" cassette $7
"once again i struggle to yammer on about my own projects, so i'll keep this short and sweet and let the sound samples speak for themselves. story is, even as the north sea shifted focus, i was still writing songs here & there on the old guitar. but in those manifestations, they weren't doing much for me. what to do? rework the songs for synthesizer, listen to a lot of bauhaus and suicide, and see what happens. so there you go. SPACE DIVE. edition of 100, pro-dubbed high-bias blue moons." -digitalis
************************************************************** generals & such "quixote" cassette $7
"this is a first for digitalis & friends... this baby is produced from a painted score. yep, painted scores. how fucking cool is that? well, based on the results from this trio of californians: christian kiefer, timothy rowan, & erik werner - it's pretty damn cool. here's a little background... generals & such, this is what they do. they play painted/graphic scores. this one is produced by werner (don't know if they all are) and this one is a 15 ft painting based on the first eight chapters of don quixote. i feel like i don't need to say anything else because that is simply incredible. but i won't taunt you... what do you get with a 15 ft painted score? scattershot percussion anchoring acoustic & electric guitars making skronks and waves. werner's acoustic playing at times reminds me of akiyama. rowan offsets this frenetic playing with calm and cool reverb-drenched spirals. it's an awesome contrast. the music progresses and unfolds slowly. kiefer's drumming guides the trio through the valleys and deserts, avoiding pitfalls unless necessary. the whole thing just feels monumental. tape is 73 minutes long, but each side is exactly the same. so it's basically a 1-sided c38, but i hate tapes with a blank side. pro-dubbed to boot. edition of 65. " -digitalis
************************************************************** rambutan "incidences" cassette $7
"century plants & burnt hills conspirator, eric hardiman, is no stranger to the realms of burnt-to-a-crisp garbage drones. his solo guise, rambutan, has been on an absolute tear this year with not-to-be-missed offerings on stunned, 905 tapes, house of alchemy, & others. his abstract meanderings grind it out with tortured guitar melodies and raw, spitting electronics. hardiman wields tension like most people drop the ball. each side demands submission as each is an open, festering wound that needs to be cauterized. these pieces ooze like liquid gold. mastery, motherfuckers, take it or leave it. edition of 70, green team." -digitalis
************************************************************** early tunnels "aerial caves" cassette $7
"what a swamp this sucker is. throw the body over the side and get the fuck back to shore because there's some serious action about to go down after dusk. early tunnels is the ohio duo of jon lorenz (wasteland jazz unit, etc) and pete fosco (pete fosco, etc) bringing down the blitzkrieg through a mess of electric fences and barbed wire. "aerieal caves" is a gnarly excursion through minefield guitar syndrome, waltzing electronics, and firebrand horns that are guaranteed to peel paint and manufacture all kinds of dissonance with the neighbors. lorenz & fosco don't fuck around. they concoct a steaming cocktail that sounds so foreign you'd swear everything they were playing was from another planet. total kong. edition of 70, pro-dubbed and scrubbed." -digitalis
************************************************************** ester poland "hippi, kanuuna ja Kiinan torni" cassette $7
"man, finland... it never stops does it? it really never does. just when you think the terrain has been scoured and every last pore drained til the last drop, something new comes along with such star-searching bombast that you get knocked square on your ass all over again. ester poland are the latest in a long line of impeccable sound sculptors out of finland, but this screeching duo are riding their own astral baby well into the new millenium.
guitar freakouts worm there way into cavernous squalls, stretching from here to forever. even when they pull things back and break out the acoustic strum, there's so much cacaphony happening under the surface that you'll never escape the chaos. these blasts are psychedelic as fuck and will strip you down to the absolute core. finland wins again. edition of 60, pro-dubbed green-foil foliage.
" -digitalis
************************************************************** disguises "aeolian hookers" cassette $7
"let the insanity begin! these beasts from toronto follow-up their mind-melting LP from last year, "post-mortem depression," with absolute avalanche of hell. jagged guitar swirls get the beat down from a pommel horse of drum bombs. screams escape from the abyss only to be sucked back under by crawling basslines. and then the guitars come at you again and again and again. there's no avoiding this minefield - you're gonna lose a leg.
this is clusterfuck city folks and disguises are your tour guides. these jagged excursions will cut your face open and make you want to apologize for bleeding all over the brand new carpet. edition of 80, pro-dubbed with broken golden fairy art and smeared labels." -digitalis
************************************************************** young boys/fm.face split cassette $7
"oh this little gem of mine, spit & shine spit & shine. young boys and fm.face are two newborn projects hailing from opposite coasts, but when they join forces on this tape it's to melt your face off. young boys kick it on first with thick reverb post-punk spirit and stonewalled vocals belting it out, these five songs are covered in new york slime. these songs are bleak but laced with something sweet that keeps you coming back for more and more.
fm.face is like the rascally younger brother who is out to show how he can really fuck shit up in a royally awesome way. these songs are punked-out wastelands. angular guitar lines repeat to infinity on top of overblown drum machines while fm.face just absolutely fucking belts it out. look out below. edition of 100, half on black, half on white, pro-dubbed pounds." -digitalis
************************************************************** a wake "s/t" cassette $7
"let's just admit this first off: we all want to fucken rock sometimes. ok, maybe a lot of the time. well, live vicariously my friends through the psychedelic sprawl that is the UK's a wake. rising from the ashes of one of my favorite bands of the last few years, beach fuzz, this trio of barry dean, nick mitchell, & fliss horrocks. dueling guitars blow smoke through heavy wattage while ramshackle drums offer a grenade path to nowhere. these four long pieces just freaking howl. moon shots be damned, this is how us regular folk get high. edition of 70, pro-dubbed purple stars." -digitalis
************************************************************** body morph "travel keys" cassette $7
"dan dlugosielski's body morph project has been scorching ear drums all over the world for the past few years. fuzzed-out and stretched-to-oblivion electronics spit their way into a black cauldron. scuzz reeds scatter like buckshot, painting everything in town a solid shade of red. in the static, beats emerge to plug the holes where water is pouring in. i dunno if this is a nightmare or a wet dream or what, but i can tell you it sounds oh so fucking good. screamers for the masses. edition of 75, pro-dubbed orange treats." -digitalis
************************************************************** black eagle child "two days" cassette $6
"I had just purchased a new pickup for my acoustic guitar and had played through several enjoyable sessions in which some music was recorded, and some was lost. The playing of these songs helped to dial down the eustress levels in our apartment a bit, since our daughter Mary had just been born a few rapid days earlier. Two songs were salvaged for this cassette, each recorded on a different day. The tracks are single take—acoustic guitar plugged into digital delay and amplified with a solid-state Kenwood amplifier. Produbbed, red shells with deep blue imprint. Limited to 100 standard copies, 5 art copies." -self released

*********************************************** Second Family Band "Logos Destroyer" cassette $6
"On side A, SFB conjure the sounds of a somber, drifting, purple cloud. The presence of Dan Woodman and T. Endless, the two main members of drunjus, is undeniable on this droner. db Pedersen's buoyant bansuri flute and throat singing float on the edge of the audible surface and Ol'sons subtleties never distract. Side B: Another cosmic noise conference at the Peaking Lights compound featuring a killer crew of Family members and collaborators old and new!" -earjerk

"DROOPING FLOOR" -young tapes
*************************************** Evan Miller "Contacting The Eye" cassette $6
"The folk instrument may sound abandoned, but these very clean compositions from Evan Miller display a different instrumental integrity. Melody is stripped away which reveals very focused arrangement of harmonics and drones that live in the now. These tracks offer something invaluably refreshing from this traditionally finger-plucking performer." -gel tapes
************************************ The Polyps - "The Gong is the Moon" cassette $6
"The Polyps is Raf Speilman, Portland OR resident, Golden Hours member, and Eggy Records main man. After checking out a killer Polyps tape on Digitalis and a 7" on Eggy, Night-People had to get involved with releasing something for this killer project. An eclectic collage sensibility prevails on this recording, track to track there is an interesting variety, synth goop and guitar drone mix with burnt to hell upbeat folky pop tunes vaguely reminiscent of a 90's Expressway vibe, totally its own deal though, another almost unclassifiable tape from Night-People. " -night people

"From the archives -- an older recording from 2007 finally sees the light. Much in the style of 'Reflection' and others from the era, with deep keyboard melodies buried beneath near-impenetrable layers of grit and throb; resembling a kind of warped trance-goth by the end. Edition of 125, color covers and labels." -monorail trespassing

********************************* The North Sea "Royal Arsenal" cassette $6
"Two ten minute tracks come smeared across this tape from Brad Rose's The North Sea. Drone music, slowly shifting, and peppered with acoustic folk-oriented instruments and percussion, hinting at this artist's background, but obviously looking forward to a drastic change in sound that is obvious from his recent releases under this project as well as activity in Ajilvsga. Color digital printing on a royal arsenal of metallic vellums; silver, gold, plum, purple. 2-panel j-card, 1 panel of real marble, an internal horizontal OBI, and silver labels. Edition of 100 on hi-bias chrome tapes. " - black horizons

Orphan Fairytale "Dragons of the Deep" cassette $6
"Orphan Fairytale is as strange and enchanting as the name implies. Dragons of the Deep is sublime lo-fi exotica and minimalist melodicism from a cold and perfect land. Eva van Deuren crafts a fluid sound sculpture from snarling dogs, electronic tom-toms from a cable-access suspense movie, slushing snow, malfunctioning music boxes, interstellar transmissions intercepted by common household appliances--sounds returning from a distant, failing memory, reassembled in impossible configurations. A perfect soundtrack for your next fever delirium." -rampart tapes

"UUHUU´s sixth tape release, finally not in edition of 6 or 13 or whatever. Doing the UUHUU here are Marcel Türkowsky and Andrew Cvar known from groups like Cones, Jackie O Motherfucker, Datashock or Chillers in the Mix. Buch is a two sided zapstory tape. Both sessions are taken from the secret Buchbinderei concertsessions in november 2006. One of the rustiest houses in the outback of b Berlin. Already closed down. On the Buch tape: Many howling voices mixed with sudden murky tapemaniplationsounds, whistling and rythming bottoms are turning into the other side with a more jaques brel like guitarswamping surrounded by the hiss of dancing bassflageoletteelphants with dronepsycheexplosions under there shining crystalfeet. Uneven Universe/Sam Goldberg "Beast / Falling Pyramid " tour split cassette $6
"A split of incredibly contrasting tracks. Uneven Universe's "Beast" is a psychedelic romp of electronics and sax that sounds as if the master had been cut into thousands of pieces then pasted back together. Disjointed yet still cohesively meshed together in a steady current of killer creepy improvisations. A track that adequately represents the best of the michigan youngbloodz. Sam's side pairs up his reverberated guitar styles with his current exploration of minimalist sequencing and analog synthesizer droning." -pizza night
************************************************** the old rig "trembling static sky" cassette $6
"lost under a blanket of overgrown weeds and fallen branches is the remains of the old rig. this duo of patrack singleton and frank baugh (sparkling wide pressure) create organic webs of sonic detritus and sew its roots into the fertile, tennessee soil. black as night and sullen under a metric ton of fuzz, "trembling static sky" has washed out all the glitz and glam and taken these stellar drones into their mossy core. utilizing a variety of field recordings, these pieces are like a warm, flowing river of molasses.
epic in scope and persistence, add the old rig to the list of growing concerns in tennessee. baugh & singleton are in it to win it. incredible artwork by bob vore. edition of 65, pro-dubbed and ready to go."- digitalis

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman "Wolfenstein 3D" cassette $7
"It's hard to ever take Ryan aka Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman too seriously. In fact, he calls Wolfenstein 3d his "new age" album. It's not all that new agey but it's definitely new territory. He brings a stellar focus to his usual barrage of bizarre electronics and droning that will make you sea sick and in awe of his mixing mastery. Full Color art + comes with 3D GLASSES!" -pizza night

"Controls more or less permanently set for cat shit and a hammer. Gutter-sourced and wooden-fingered collage of twin guitar assault from the latest iteration of the ongoing Bee Mask/Skin Graft collab. Disgusting patinas on elaborate bronze machines. Hot coals/black holes uneasy contemplation energy, with an unexpectedly quiet/majestic finish. Mark McGuire (Emeralds) and Nate Scheible make cameo appearances, amid fragments culled from wasted home jams and performances at the Tower2012 in Cleveland.-deception island
******************************************************* The Reel Deel "Marked for Death" cassette $6 BACK IN STOCK!
"Here's one for those of you who particularly cherished Hot Air Balloon Ride's "Oktoberfest" c30 this past winter, a release that garnered such critical accolades as "shows no signs of being anything other than dicking around for just long enough to be worrying." The Reel Deel, captured in action at Cleveland's Doubting Thomas Gallery, is the trio of John Elliott (Emeralds, Outer Space, Hot Air Balloon Ride), Ryan Kuehn (Thursday Club, Dr. Quinn Medecine Woman, Hot Air Balloon Ride), and myself, in tapes-only mode.
This was a ridiculously killer/annihilated February night, of which I remember mostly all of us standing around a table laughing hysterically and the room glowing yellow while I tried to make my eyes focus on a massive fucking heap of tape. Giant flapping jaws of the cosmos tunnel jams, decked out in stoned giggling and paranoid whispers. Seriously counterintuitive water features. Comments from those in attendance included, "I knew that Jerry was here." No shit." -deception island
******************************************************* AC/The Mossy Throats "Feral Twins" cassette $6

************************************************************* katchmare "soft cavern" cassette $6
"katchmare is the solo moniker of nick hoffman who runs the excellent scissor death label up in illinois. "soft cavern" is a dense listen and perfect for the oncoming bitter cold that winter brings. using little more than guitar and microsynth, hoffman laces the hanging branches with burned-out silver streamers and acid-soaked confetti. there's something about "soft cavern" that is simultaneously disorienting but familiar. you're sure you've been here, but you can't quite figure out when. there's a vague, sinister undercurrent that flows through the cavern walls, but it's constantly kept in check by hoffman's able, delicate touch. these drones are entangled in each other, like a sonic spiderweb of bliss. limited to 50 copies." - digitalis

CANNIBAL FREQUENICES cassette $6

threw it in there 2 years ago. Now its been unearthed and its time to for the rot to soak into your stereos. Fans of Shiflet's eariler GOT tape "Drones and Spits" should be chomping at the bits for this one. Edition of 50." - gods of tundra

**************************************************************** gryn brvs/siblings of plasma split cassette $6
"this one comes from the UK with all sorts of dangling gold and buckets of skronk. fresh off their chocolate monk CDR, gryn brvs continue to be at odds with themselves, creating a cacaphonous sprawl that totally works, even though it seems like it shouldn't. harshly picked acoustic guitars rattle on above waves of ramshackle, junkyard percussion. it's like the percussion is trying to destroy the melody laid down by the guitars. it's fucken great. this sidelong meltdown squirms along for days, lulling you into a state of total abandon. siblings of plasma share members and membranes with gryn brvs, but their modus is down a different rabbit hole. walls of cello squalor mourning the end of days, wailing like the death knell of god only knows. these tracks are bathed in organic, hypnotic ruin. once s.o.p. gets their claws in, you are done. 75 copies w/ spraypainted wrap around sleeves." - digitalis
